A dame, a pawn shop ticket, two neanderthals and a piano player. They had nothin' in common in life, unless that life was mine...
Normally the old stuff ain't exactly my thing. I like my colors crisp, my explosions bright, and the movie decapitations oozing red. But then one day, the human introduced me to a little thing called "Film Noir." Marlowe, Spade, "Black Jack" Justice ... the stories were strange and the banter was fun. So I figured I'd take a shot at it myself. It all started one cold night downtown ... and it started like this ...
“The lady was a mystery wrapped in aN enigma. The voice that grabbed my attention was sent from Heaven. Express. But Her eyes? Gifts from the other guy.”
One thing I gotta give it to you humans for is that when you want to, y’all do god damn great noir! Phillip Marlowe, the Shadow, Sam Spade, or even more recently, Black Jack Justice, this stuff is fun! So I figured, “I got gowns from the right era, can’t be that hard to build a vintage microphone, so let’s do the thing!” Wasn’t hard either, I mean like Marlene Dietrich said, “Act like a lady, think like a boss.”
ready for my closeup mr demille...
This was entirely the Human's idea. We pretty much started just pulling out random stuff during my black and white shoot, and before I knew it he wanted to do this vintage 30's Starlet thing. He's just got a thing for those old days or something. Sure, I'm all about the new, but anything that lets me be all glamorous is fine by me!
