Scottish Highland Dress
There's generally two times a year I end up with a new gown. Hal-Con itself, or the Hal-Con Yule Ball. Steph contacted me one day to let me know she had an idea for a Tartan dress for the Yule Ball. I wasn't gonna say no, I mean, Steph has some major skills so when she says she has an idea, I REALLY want her to run with it. As always, she came through in a big way!
Now, since we wanted to do a bit of a "Scottish Highlands" theme with this shoot, the plan was to do a bit of a split between Point Pleasant Park and Sir Sanford Fleming Park (Halifax, you probably know it as "The Dingle" thanks to the Dingle Tower). Plan didn't quite work. By the time we could get moving, we'd lost so much light that we couldn't get to the Dingle the first time out, so it became a two part shoot. Couple weeks later we managed to get to the Dingle and tried to shoot at the tower. Considering the damn near hurricane winds, I emphasize tried. Like, I literally couldn't stand up without getting blown around. But, we found some spots where the wind wasn't an issue, and I like to think it worked out.
